Project Overview – 24-Month Project

At the start of the pandemic, Pixels and Ink was engaged to support a growing architecture and engineering firm based in Michigan. We began the project by conducting workshops, surveys, and competitive analysis to develop effective messaging and business development strategies. Remarkably, the timing of the project in March-May of 2020 proved advantageous, as we were able to interview over 75 education leaders (including K-12 and Higher Ed) whose lives were significantly impacted by the sudden disruption.

Based on our findings, our team undertook a range of ongoing activities, including proposal support, social media campaigns, internal messaging initiatives, and strategies to reinforce the company’s new messaging. In addition, we were tasked with developing an extensive client experience plan, conducting an employee engagement survey, and updating the messaging on their outdated website.

In this case, we worked alongside an existing marketing department to help them achieve their goals often drowned out by proposals and the typical marketing day-to-day.

Messaging Exercise to Meet a New, More Inclusive Firm Strategy Across All Firm Media

Our team conducted activities, such as workshops, interviews, and competitive analysis, to develop inclusive messaging for the firm to use across all media platforms. By leveraging insights gained, we crafted messaging that resonated with a wider audience, represented the firm’s values and mission, and integrated into their communication strategy, contributing to a more impactful brand identity.

Social Media Campaign Strategies

We provided social media campaign strategies to the firm, including messaging, graphic design, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting. Our team created compelling content and visuals that communicated the firm’s messaging, engaged its target audience, and continuously optimized the social media strategy for greater impact.

Outward Strategies to Expand the Firm’s Reach and Attract New Clients

Our team worked closely with the firm to develop effective outward strategies, which included introducing a business development ‘seller-doer’ model, pursuit strategies, and public relations. By leveraging our expertise, research capabilities, and insights, we were able to help the firm expand its reach, attract new clients, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Our efforts contributed to the firm’s growth and increased visibility in the education marketplace.

CX Workshop and Interviews to Understand the Client Journey and a Plan for How to Meet Their Needs

Our team conducted several client experience activities, including workshops, client interviews, and client journey mapping to develop a comprehensive multi-year strategy for enhancing the client experience. Based on our findings, we provided a list of recommended steps for implementation and execution that would help the firm achieve its goals. By implementing our recommendations, the firm is now able to deliver an exceptional client experience, which has led to increased client satisfaction and loyalty. One of the biggest outcomes from the exercise included developing a Client Concierge program and creating space to invite clients and the greater community through Learning Hubs.
